I founded Simple Elegance, LLC in 1996 because of my strong desire to help people during this exciting time in their lives. I wanted to build relationships and send many more couples down the aisle. After I graduated from the University of Kansas, (Rock Chalk) I went to work for Hallmark Cards, Inc. It was an incredible opportunity to work for a company with such a strong foundation in Kansas City but I quickly learned that I wanted to have something that was my own while raising my family. Naturally, weddings came to mind! I became certified by Weddings Beautiful and left Hallmark Cards, Inc and never looked back! I have planned hundreds of weddings now and each one is just as unique as the couple I have had the privilege to work with. I enjoy getting to know the families that choose me and am so excited to watch the wedding weekend unfold in front of our eyes. (insert goosebumps here). I consider myself an accidental entrepreneur because I began building a team when I could no longer handle the amount of business that was coming into Simple Elegance. I found out that I was being called a pioneer and a trailblazer for building the first wedding planning team in KC. I humbly accept those titles and growing Simple Elegance into a Multiple Award-Winning Consulting Firm has been an unexpected dream come true. (teamwork makes the dream work)

My Family…

My husband, Kevin and I have 3 kids, Roark, Neelie and Ryker. (2 are already out of the house) and 2 Shiba Inu’s, Roxie and Ruby. I enjoy time with my family at home, trips to the Colorado Rockies and the beach in Destin. I adore a great chocolate chip cookie, coffee all day long, and lip gloss! I am an avid lover of quotes, Olivia Newton- John, and singing competitions! (I used to sing at weddings too)

I have also been interviewed on “Better KC,” “Fox 4 in the Morning,” “Fox News at Noon,” “The Walt Bodine Talk Show”’ and featured on Martha Stewart Weddings Website, The Knot, Style Me Pretty and Carats & Cake. I have spoken at local conferences on various topics from business ownership, to building a team and inspiring other planners. I am a member of the National Bridal Service Association, served on the board of The Kansas City Preferred Wedding Professionals Association, and I am the founder of the KC Wedding Planner Circle. An organization that brings the best planners together in KC to share ideas, stories and support each other’s businesses. I am so proud of the multiple awards that my company has won consecutively over the years especially, the coveted Knot Hall of Fame Award that is only awarded to the top 5% of wedding professionals.

Simple Elegance Wedding Consulting Firm, LLC was born in 1996 from Kindra’s love of weddings and her strong desire to help people during this exciting time in their lives. Kindra Browne and Simple Elegance are absolutely amazing! My husband and I truly do not have enough good things to say about working with Kindra. She is one of the most organized people I know, and never lets a detail slip through the cracks. Throughout our planning process, she kept detailed meeting notes, as well as binder with every contract and update we had. It made for a seamless wedding day. Kindra is also very connected in the Kansas City area. I have no doubt that she hooked us up with the best of the best when it came to vendors. She understands how to recommend people based on personality type and taste – something that can’t be underestimated. The cherry on top? Kindra is as sweet as can be. She was comforting, creative and confident. Wedding planning can certainly cause stress. Kindra brought a sense of calm and comfort to the process that I know we wouldn’t have gotten from anyone else in Kansas City (or beyond). Meeting Kindra made our ‘Best Day Ever” an enjoyable, organized, dream come true! Her knowledge & expertise led us to the lovely people we worked with along the way.. She made the planning fun with her attention to details , reassurance when we hit a bump, & calmness the weekend of the wedding! I also had guests & wedding party members compliment our wedding planner on her “great job”, “how she kept everything running so smoothly” and for Kindra “being so calm & friendly” during the event! ROCK STAR

We were a wedding planner’s nightmare–we came into it with no vision of what our perfect wedding would look like, but we still had strong opinions on every decision along the way. It didn’t make it any easier that we were planning the wedding from NYC and had only two weekends for on-the-ground planning. Kindra and the Simple Elegance team helped us navigate this new terrain and create a wedding that captured who we are as a couple better than we ever could have imagined. She held our hands through every step of the way, assembled a rock-star team of vendors, kept us on track, and anticipated everything. We knew we had nothing to worry about with our big day in her hands, and we were able to spend the wedding weekend focused on ourselves, our families, and our friends–not worrying about any of the details. And boy did the details come together–our guests are still talking about all the little touches that Kindra came up with. By the end of it, Kindra wasn’t just our wedding planner, but our friend, and we still miss our monthly check-in calls!
