Our Simple Elegance team had the opportunity to visit one of Kansas City’s gems recently, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and check out everything this “destination” has to offer our clients. The Museum is tucked away off of 44th and Warwick Boulevard, conveniently located one block from the Country Club Plaza and there is on-site parking. We experienced award-winning dining at Cafe Sebastienne and got to see the ins and outs of the unique and modern event space available for weddings and events of every magnitude!
As soon as you walk into the Museum you are greeted with exquisite works of art in the Museum’s Atrium that are part of the permanent collection. The Atrium is a great space to seat your guests for a reception.
There is plenty of space for over 200 guests whether you prefer a plated dinner or buffet style, the Museum can accommodate both. The reception desk is transformed into a bar and underneath the sculptural artwork is a great place for a band or DJ.
The dining spaces in Cafe Sebastienne offer even more options for seating and cocktailing. The Museum’s Cafe also proves to be a perfect space for a wedding ceremony.
We had the pleasure of trying some of their summer menu options, and they were definitely some palette pleasers! Chef Jennifer Maloney uses local farm-fresh ingredients for all of her menu options and the Special Events Staff, including Betty Kindler, will meet with you to design a menu especially for your reception.
We truly enjoyed an afternoon out of the office and a chance to check out all the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art has to offer.
